A Statement of Relationship and Stewardship

I acknowledge with respect and a sense of responsibility that I live and work on the traditional lands and waters of the Ktunaxa ɁamakɁis and the Ĩyãħé Nakón mąkóce (Stoney) peoples. I also recognize the enduring connections of the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla nations to this territory.

My relationship here is guided by a principle of reciprocity. I understand that to live and run a business on this land is to enter into a relationship where I must give back more than I take.

My commitment is to operationalize this reciprocity. It is in the native plants I cultivate, the rainwater I collect, and the solar energy I generate. Practices that give back to the land’s own systems. It is in my business striving for B Corp certification, ensuring its purpose balances people and the planet. It is in my choice to use a green host and match 300% of my energy use for restoration, aiming for a net-positive footprint.

My actions are to continue learning from and participating in the arts, education, and foods of the Indigenous peoples of this area, understanding that true reciprocity is relational. I steward this place not just by reducing harm, but by actively contributing to its vitality through community clean-ups, fire safety, and global reforestation—so that the land and waters may thrive for generations to come.
